MetaSCOPE combines a high-resolution camera with Eyes Up Display technology to bring the image directly in front of the surgeon's eyes. No looking through a microscope, no cables restricting movement, no custom fitting required. 3D magnification from 2x to 9x, real-time streaming, and up to 2 hours of battery life.
MetaSCOPE is a wearable digital exoscope developed by MediThinQ that combines a high-resolution magnification camera with Eyes Up Display (EUD) technology. Unlike a conventional surgical microscope, MetaSCOPE does not require the surgeon to lean over an eyepiece: the images captured by the camera are projected directly onto the wearable display positioned in front of the eyes, allowing work in a natural ergonomic posture throughout the procedure.
The system is available in two camera configurations — MS-1 (64MP, 2x–5x zoom) and MS-2 (108MP, 4x–9x zoom) — and offers stereoscopic 3D visualization, 50 adjustable focus levels, and real-time Wi-Fi streaming to up to 3 devices simultaneously. CE, FDA, PMDA, and KFDA certified. Awarded the Gold Edison Award 2023 and winner of the Medtronic APAC Innovation Challenge 2022.
The MetaSCOPE camera (MS-1 or MS-2) captures the surgical field in 3D with a resolution of up to 108MP and adjustable zoom between 2x and 9x depending on the model. The surgeon selects the magnification and focus level before starting the procedure.
The captured image is projected in real time onto the binocular micro-display integrated into the headband, positioned directly in front of the surgeon's eyes. The top-down light guide technology ensures sharp 1920×1080p viewing with a 40° field of view.
The system generates a stereoscopic 3D image that provides true depth of field, improving the surgeon's spatial perception during the procedure and reducing distance estimation errors.
MetaSCOPE transmits the image via Wi-Fi with near-zero latency to up to 3 Windows devices simultaneously, enabling real-time collaboration, surgical training, and procedure recording for documentation and research.
MetaSCOPE transforms the experience of magnification-assisted surgery: it eliminates the postural limitations of the conventional microscope and turns every procedure into a collaborative and documentable experience.
By projecting the image in front of the eyes instead of requiring the user to lean over an eyepiece, MetaSCOPE eliminates the main cause of neck and lower back fatigue in magnification-assisted surgery.
Two camera models cover the full range of needs: MS-1 for procedures that require a wider field of view and MS-2 for those demanding maximum magnification and detail.
Unlike surgical loupes, MetaSCOPE does not require custom manufacturing or an adaptation period. It works with existing prescription glasses and adjusts to any cranial anatomy.
The ability to stream live to up to 3 devices simultaneously turns every procedure into an opportunity for training, remote supervision, or a second opinion without interrupting surgery.
Each procedure can be recorded directly from MetaSCOPE with a single gesture, generating high-resolution material for clinical documentation, scientific publication, or continuing education.
MetaSCOPE holds all major regulatory certifications worldwide, ensuring its use in clinical environments with the highest standards of safety and quality.
MetaSCOPE is suitable for any surgical or diagnostic specialty that requires high-resolution magnification, 3D visualization, and freedom of movement during the procedure.
MetaSCOPE consists of four elements designed to work together seamlessly. Each component has been developed to maximize surgeon comfort and image quality during prolonged procedures.
Available in two models — MS-1 (64MP, 2x–5x zoom) and MS-2 (108MP, 4x–9x zoom). It captures the surgical field in stereoscopic 3D with autofocus and 50 levels of adjustable focal distance before the procedure.
Micro-display binocular with 1920×1080p resolution and a 40° field of view. Top-down light guide technology projects the image directly in front of the eyes. Compatible with prescription glasses. Total system weight: 420 g.
6,700 mAh battery with up to 2 hours of continuous use and a 3-hour charging time. The controller allows you to adjust magnification, focus, and capture images with a single gesture without interrupting the procedure.
